PT Profile: Dick Wohl, PT | Apr 14, 2015

Dick Wohl has been a PT for 36 years. He graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in physical therapy in 1978 and received his Masters in Hospital Administration from Central Michigan University. He has worked in acute care, nursing homes, rehab, outpatient, sports medicine, and currently works in home health at Trinity Hospital in Minot.

Dick joined the APTA in 1976. He always felt membership to the APTA was important not only for supporting the profession, but important to the patients as well. "I feel the national organization is well run and gives patients an understanding that we have a commitment to providing optimal care."

"I would like to say THANK-YOU to my wife Laura for dealing with the variety of working hours. We also have three wonderful children: Adam, Annie, and Alex; their spouses Jill, Steve, and Megan; and a granddaughter, Ivy. My kids realize their health is important and something to be appreciated." His son Alex will graduate from UND-PT in May, 2015. Dick's hobbies include hiking, cross country skiing, kayaking, fishing, and camping.

Some of Dick's favorite memories are about his wonderful patients. "One young lady who had been in a devastating motor vehicle accident came back to find me after 25 years to show me how well she was doing. (Yes, I did remember her name.) I also got to work with Bob Hope, the comedian/actor."

Dick would like to wish best wishes to all who are working to make life better for others and a big thanks to UND PT.
