Become a Neurology Section Advocacy Liaison | Apr 10, 2018

The Advocacy & Consumer Affairs Committee wants to disseminate information more efficiently and engage more Section members by using local state liaisons. The anticipated time commitment will average 1-2 hours per week. This is an exciting way to get involved with the Section!

Duties and responsibilities include:
Communicate Neurology Section activities related to advocacy, practice, and education at the state level. Updates will be provided in person at meetings, via conference calls with state leaders, and/or in writing via news updates.

Participate in advocacy with state legislators in collaboration with Neurology Section updates.
Obtain and relay information on topics related to legislation, advocacy, and practice from the respective Chapter/region to their contacts from the Section Practice and Advocacy and Consumer Affairs Committees.

Maintain a working e-mail address in APTA's database.
Attend Chapter/District meetings and events.
Serve as key contact on behalf of the Section when opportunities arise to meet with state or federal legislators.

Interested individuals need to be APTA and Neuro Section members with an interest in neuro advocacy. If you have any questions, please contact Jillian Tanych at
