Warm Winter Greetings!
We are on the downside of Winter or on a more positive note the upside of
Spring. We did hold our winter meeting on January 20 in Carrington. It is always
fun to picture PTs, PTAs, and students speeding across the state to the Chieftain
Inn! We did have a pretty good turn out and thanks to all that made the trek.
This is our planning meeting when we review the strategic plan and set goals
for the rest of the year. We take a serious look at the future of NDPTA and
what we want to accomplish. Of course, we are always looking for ways to increase
our membership. We have several great events planned including our booth participation
for the Fargo Marathon and a "Fall Prevention" program for October, PT month.
Please consider volunteering so contact NDPTA for more information.
I listened to an APTA webinar today on "The Loop". This is the organized communication network designed by the APTA student assembly. I heard phrases like "driven and diverse" and with "energy and excitement". The students view membership as a professional duty. How inspiring is that!?! Almost makes you want to be a student, well almost as I think about neuroanatomy tests. It should inspire PTs and PTAs to be members to catch some of the enthusiasm and support the profession. "The Loop" relies heavily on social media to connect with members and get their message out. NDPTA also has stepped into the social media realm with our Facebook page. Check it out!
As we slide into spring, take a look at our spring continuing education. We are very excited to bring in Jeff Houck, PT, PhD for a great program on foot and ankle. Click on the education tab for more details.
I look forward to an exciting year with NDPTA. Don't miss the fun. Please keep in touch, my door is always open.
